Stitch Away Stress Interview with Alanna Okun

It’s finally April and guess what that means? It’s Stitch Away Stress month! For the next couple weeks we’ll be giving you tips and tricks on how to use yarn crafts to bust stress and relax. We’ll also be sharing interviews and quotes from people in different walks of life about how knit or crochet have helped them get through stressful situations and get back to feeling happier and healthier.

Our second interview is with Alanna Okun, who is a writer, editor, and crafter living in New York. She is currently a senior editor at Racked and worked at BuzzFeed for a while before that. Her work has appeared on NPR, Brooklyn Magazine, Apartment Therapy, The Hairpin, The Billfold, and more. She is author of the new book “The Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater: Essays on Crafting.”

Watch the video below to hear what Okun has to say about the crossover between yarn crafts and wellness!
