I've been knitting for many years now and am currently working on a sweater for my daughter-in-law for Christmas. You can never start too early. I am ready to block the sweater and a question came to mind. How do you block? Do you block each individual piece before sewing or put the whole piece together and then block.

Some people like to block in pieces, some people block the finished item, and some people try to avoid blocking at all costs -- me!

What fiber are you using? Makes a big difference.

My favorite way of dealing with wool is to assemble, wash by hand, hard spin-dry in a towel, and then spot pin to an old dress form padded with towels to the size I desire. The sweater has very little moisture left and dries weighted by gravity to a natural shape.
