I just started the sleeve for the retro sweater pattern from moda dea - Babies and Kids collection 1 pages 32 & 33. I am stuck. I followed row one. Row 2 states - Ch 1, sc in front lp of each sc across; turn.
work 1 (1,2,2) rows even. does that mean I work row 1 for 2 more rows?

Then it reads -
Dec row: ch 1, sc in front lp of first sc. SC2tog, sc in front lp of each st across to last 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in front lp of last st. - I get this but then it states -

Work 5 (3,3,1) rows even. rep last 6 (4,4,2) rows until there are 19 (20.20.22) sts. I am lost here I have no idea how many rows of what I am supposed to mke can anyone help?

Those numbers in parentheses are for different sizes. There are apparently 4 different sizes for this pattern.

What you may want to do is take a highlighter and highlight the numbers that apply to your size. For example, if you are making the smallest size, you highlight that first number which is outside of the parentheses. If you are making the largest size you highlight the last number in the series in the parentheses.

KT thanks for the input. I tried to follow the logic I believe what I need to do is the following.

Chain 26 (31,35,41) - I am doing the 35 size.
Row 1: SC in second chain fon hok and in each st across - 25(30.34.40) sts turn. so I do 34.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in front lp of each sc across; turn.
work 1 (1,2,2) rows even. - here I just do 2 more rows. and this would be 3 & 4.
Then it reads -
Dec row: ch 1, sc in front lp of first sc. SC2tog, sc in front lp of each st across to last 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in front lp of last st. So my row 5 would be this.

Work 5 (3,3,1) rows even. Does this mean just repeat the single crochet across 3 more rows?

rep last 6 (4,4,2) rows until there are 19 (20.20.22) sts.
And, does this statement mean to repeat the patten of Ch 1, sc in front lp of each sc across; turn. and on the 4th row I Dec row: ch 1, sc in front lp of first sc. SC2tog, sc in front lp of each st across to last 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in front lp of last st. until I have 20 sts? I will try this. I have been crocheting for many years and I often find the most basic patterns the hardest to follow.

Anytime instructions say "work even" it is telling you to work the stitch pattern without any increases or decreases.

And "rep last 6(4,4,2) rows until there are 19(20,20,22) stitches" means that you will be repeating a set of 4 rows (for the size you are making) until you get down to 20 stitches (for your size.)

This is the first time where I have seen instructions written this way but I usually work with knitting patterns. Knitting patterns will usually specify which rows to repeat, e.g. repeat rows 1-4 X number of times until you have Y stitches.
