I have a pattern for a sunbonnet sue afghan. Row three calls for me to start with her shoes and I don’t like to cut the yarn and tie knots.. is there any better way to change colors in the middle of a row? I am a visual person and could use some very detailed instructions or a photo... T

This is the Russian Join - But you need to cut .

I would just keep the yarn behind the work and since the shoes are a small bit of yarn < you can try to work over the dropped yarn without cutting.

Best to you with this Project.
