Simple Crocheted Project

I want to cover a plastic coat hanger with a simple single crochet stitch however I cannot figure out how to get the stitch around the hanger. I have experience in crocheting but this has got me stumped. I need help!

Forums:

1. Bring tail of yarn back-to-front through that giant triangular "space" of the hanger .
2. Make a slip knot on the hook as usual.
3. Bring hook above hanger, yarn over hook (strand will wrap around hanger wire) and draw through loop.
4. Chain 1 (for height), then simply work sc as usual:
...a. insert hook below hanger wire into space
...b. yarn over hook and pick up a loop
...c. bring hook above hanger wire
...d. yarn over hook (strand will wrap around hanger wire) and draw through 2 loops

Craftsman,
Thank you so much! I cannot believe how easy that was - I don't know what I thinking : } I'm making these for Christmas gifts. They are great for delicate items.
