Scrolling through past posts to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Postings are in chronological order of the date when the topic was first posted. You can also use the SEARCH function to look for past posts about your question.

If you don't see your question addressed, or if you have additional questions, post a New Topic rather than replying to an existing topic. This will increase the likelihood of getting responses to your specific question. Also, try to describe your specific question in the topic subject line rather than "New Knitter" or "Help."

The more information you can provide in your question, the better the responses.

We hope you enjoy the postings on this board and will come back to share your knowledge with others.

need help with pattern instructions

Hi Everyone,

I'm a new knitter and am working on my first throw and also with circular needles for the first time. Things seemed to be going along fine when part of the instructions confused me and I'm hoping someone might be able to translate. There are two rows in the pattern. The second row instructions are:

Row 2: P6; *double inc (to work double inc: purl next st but leave st on left-hand needle; YO and purl again in same st; now sl st off left-hand needle=double inc made); P9; rep from * across row to last 7 sts; double inc; P6 (Note: on next row, work each YO as one st.)

I understand everything except for where it says "Note: on next row, work each YO as one st).

Are they saying to purl instead of double inc on every other even row? It's very confusing and I appreciate anyone who might be able to decipher this for me.

Thanks!
Cathie
