To get the most out of these boards, before posting a topic, we suggest:

Scrolling through past posts to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Postings are in chronological order of the date when the topic was first posted. You can also use the SEARCH function to look for past posts about your question.

If you don't see your question addressed, or if you have additional questions, post a New Topic rather than replying to an existing topic. This will increase the likelihood of getting responses to your specific question. Also, try to describe your specific question in the topic subject line rather than "New Knitter" or "Help."

The more information you can provide in your question, the better the responses.

We hope you enjoy the postings on this board and will come back to share your knowledge with others.

I recently discovered an entire trash bag full of wool that I had stashed away who-knows-when. I can identify that most of it was inherited because I remember the projects that my cousin made from some of the skeins (including an afghan that was given to me forty-five years ago!). I re-balled it all so that I could check for insect damage or loss of loft and I'm really happy with almost all of it (only one medium ball was wound too tightly and even that has its uses). I've transferred it to a couple of large under-bed totes and have vowed not to set foot in a yarn store until I have used up at least half of it. I've already made several hats and other small accessories and have a couple of multi-color sweaters for the grandkids in the design stages.

I can't believe that I have so much and can still discover more. If I buy anything in the next year I should be flogged. I just won't put myself in temptation's way. (Of course, that can't possibly include the occasional thrift-store find; after all it all goes to the hospital....)
