If you do a Google search on "crochet abbreviations" you will come up with dozens of sites that will be helpful.
One that I like (the first one to come up on a quick search I just did) is:
[
www.crochetnmore.com]
It has illustrations of selected moves. www.crochetcabana.com has very good tutorials as well.
If you find something that needs further explanation, someone here will walk you through it.
You might want to look into charted crochet as well. Once you know the basic stitches and the symbols that are used to stand for them (VERY easy to follow, virtually a picture of what the item will look like) you can make just about any charted item without even looking at the written directions.
