Re: changing colors by pulling up long lp?

Unfortunately the pattern is not online but here are the directions for the first couple of rounds after the sole of the bootie is crocheted.
Rnd 1: Working this in yellow. (Ch 2, hdc) in first st, hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 3 sts, hdc in next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, join. Do not fasten off, pull up long lp to be picked up later. (36)
Rnd 2: For sides, working this rnd in back lps only, join pink with sc in first st, sc in each st around, join with sl st in first sc. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.
Rnd 3: Join white with sc in first st, sc in each st around, join. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.
Rnd 4: Pick up yellow from 2 rnds before last, ch 1, sc in each st around, join. Pull up long lp to be picked up later.
Here is a link to view the finished product, it is the Sherbert Stripes Booties 1st column and 3rd row down. Sorry this is the only picture I could locate online. The pattern comes from this book.
