KT thanks for the input. I tried to follow the logic I believe what I need to do is the following.
Chain 26 (31,35,41) - I am doing the 35 size.
Row 1: SC in second chain fon hok and in each st across - 25(30.34.40) sts turn. so I do 34.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in front lp of each sc across; turn.
work 1 (1,2,2) rows even. - here I just do 2 more rows. and this would be 3 & 4.
Then it reads -
Dec row: ch 1, sc in front lp of first sc. SC2tog, sc in front lp of each st across to last 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in front lp of last st. So my row 5 would be this.
Work 5 (3,3,1) rows even. Does this mean just repeat the single crochet across 3 more rows?
rep last 6 (4,4,2) rows until there are 19 (20.20.22) sts.
And, does this statement mean to repeat the patten of Ch 1, sc in front lp of each sc across; turn. and on the 4th row I Dec row: ch 1, sc in front lp of first sc. SC2tog, sc in front lp of each st across to last 3 sts, sc2tog, sc in front lp of last st. until I have 20 sts? I will try this. I have been crocheting for many years and I often find the most basic patterns the hardest to follow.
