To get the most out of these boards, before posting a topic, we suggest:

Scrolling through past posts to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Postings are in chronological order of the date when the topic was first posted. You can also use the SEARCH function to look for past posts about your question.

If you don't see your question addressed, or if you have additional questions, post a New Topic rather than replying to an existing topic. This will increase the likelihood of getting responses to your specific question. Also, try to describe your specific question in the topic subject line rather than "New Knitter" or "Help."

The more information you can provide in your question, the better the responses.

We hope you enjoy the postings on this board and will come back to share your knowledge with others.

new post on old topic - lining a bag

ATTENTION: If you have a question relating to an old topic, PLEASE post as a NEW TOPIC so it shows up on the current page. If I may speak for many of the regular contributors, we're glad to respond, but don't want to waste time trying to find the question. Myself, normally I won't go back farther than page 2.

Tonight (13 June 2008) I made an exception and decided to look until I found the one new post I hadn't yet read. I found this (below) buried back 17 pages (in a thread dating from August 2006!). I'm bringing it forward for all to see. Hopefully someone will be able respond to istruemph's question.

I have never lined anything before. The bag I made for my daughter is stretchy and she wants it to stay stretchy so she can stuff it full if she ever needs to. I'm not sure if this is a good idea. If it is ok what would you suggest for lining and stiches so they don't break.
