Scrolling through past posts to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Postings are in chronological order of the date when the topic was first posted. You can also use the SEARCH function to look for past posts about your question.

If you don't see your question addressed, or if you have additional questions, post a New Topic rather than replying to an existing topic. This will increase the likelihood of getting responses to your specific question. Also, try to describe your specific question in the topic subject line rather than "New Knitter" or "Help."

The more information you can provide in your question, the better the responses.

Too Loose!!!

Hi Everyone!
I am new to crochet, having taught myself the basics.
I am trying to knit a practice afghan and am having a bit of a problem.
The suggested size hook was an "I" hook, using worsted weight yarn which is what I used. However, I noticed as I was crocheting along that the piece started to have a curve like a rainbow, so I started over (thinking my foundation row was too tight) using an "N" hook for my foundation and then continuing on with the "I" hook. The piece is now straight, but instead of 45" the length is over 72"!!!! Also it is too thin and lacy. I know I am crocheting WAY too loosely, but how do I overcome this? Is it the way I am wrapping the yarn around my hand for tension? I just wrap it around my pinky.
Thanks for all your help.
