To get the most out of these boards, before posting a topic, we suggest:

Scrolling through past posts to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Postings are in chronological order of the date when the topic was first posted. You can also use the SEARCH function to look for past posts about your question.

If you don't see your question addressed, or if you have additional questions, post a New Topic rather than replying to an existing topic. This will increase the likelihood of getting responses to your specific question. Also, try to describe your specific question in the topic subject line rather than "New Knitter" or "Help."

The more information you can provide in your question, the better the responses.

We hope you enjoy the postings on this board and will come back to share your knowledge with others.

Counting out the stitches listed in Round 2, I have 161 stitches (includes the ch-3 at the beginning) by the end of Round 2. I actually think that it should be 160 stitches because the pattern that I see should be 1+3+73+3+1+3+73+3+1 whereas the instructions really have 1+1+3+73+3+1+3+73+3+1 where that first 1 is the ch-3. If I am correct, then I would do ch-3, then 2 dc in next stitch.

Are you making sure to do the multiple stitches in the one stitch? Where I have marked out 3 -- it is 3 dc's in one sc. If you are simply doing 3 dcs in the next 3 sc, you won't have enough stitches.

If you are consistently short a set number of stitches, you are most likely consistently not increasing enough by doing several stitches in one. If the number you are short varies, then the count is off somewhere. It might help you to break out each step and then put markers so that you can more easily go back and count. And for those long sections, i.e. 73 dcs in the next 73 scs, you may want to mark these stitches off in groups of 10 or 20 so it's easier to see where the count may be off.
