From Evie's Desk

Evie Rosen, founder of Warm Up America!

The need goes on! Despite the fact that at least 70,000 afghans have been completed and donated to the homeless, there continues to be a need for more. You have accomplished the incredible by producing these warm and wonderful blankets, and yet we need more! The recipients tell us how grateful they are for these, which have brought them physical and emotional warmth, and we cannot deny the thousands more who need them.

So amid thanks for your help, we&re asking you to please continue your work to Warm Up America! You are wonderful.

Thank you,

Evie Rosen

Thank You to Worcester, MA Group

Evie Rosen, founder of Warm Up America! recently receive a lovely thank-you note from Linda E. Sopp, Field Representative, Western Massachusetts, with The Salvation Army, Northampton, MA, Ms. Sopp wrote:

Dear Ms. Rosen:

I tried to phone you today to let you know how much the “Warm Up America” program has helped in our local area...We have obtained over 400 afghans from a wonderful group of women (and one very special man) in Worcester County who have been making afghans for four years now. We have distributed these afghans and lap robes in conjunction with our “League of Mercy” Visitation Program Volunteers, and have had the pleasure of seeing literally hundreds of people&s faces light up as they receive these beautiful gifts. Ethel Forte is the leader of this very dedicated group....The shelter residents, the veterans and the nursing home residents have been so delighted that I am receiving requests from around the state...Thank you for your part in making this worthwhile program flourish!

p.s. I&ve even begun to knit squares.

--Linda E. Sopp
