I have to make a baby bunting bag by Aug. My problem is I have never heard of a 4 or 9 dcl. The directions read as follows,
4dcl (YOH. draw up a loop in next st. YOH and draw through 2 loops on hook) 4 times. Yoh and draw through 5 loops on hook.
9dcl ( yoh. draw up a loop in next st. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) 9 times. Yoh and draw through 10 loops on hook.
does not matter how many times I try this I keep getting 4 loops as if doing a DC
Illustrations would help me a great deal on this one.
Thanks. Ang

Here's an illustration to go along with carolishere's excellent directions.

Ok lets give this a try.
1. Yarn over hook and draw up a loop in next stitch, you should have 3 loops on hook, YO draw thru 2 of those loops you now have 2 loops on hook
2. yarn over and draw a loop in next stitck, you should now have 4 loops on hook,YO draw thru 2 of those loops, you now have 3 loops on hook
3. yarn over and draw up a loop in next stitch, you should now have 5 loops on hook, YO draw thru 2 of those loops, you now have 4 loops on hook
4, yarn over and draw up a loop in next stitch, you should know have 6 loops on hook,YO draw thru 2 of those loops you now have 5 loops left on hook, YO draw up a loOP thru all 5 loops on hook
You do the same steps as above for the 9dcl until you have 10 loops left on hook and draw thru all 10
Hope this helps.
