Trouble Understanding Pattern

I'm trying to make a baby blanket and I'm not sure if I'm following the pattern correctly.

There is a foundation row that is dc in next 2 ch skip 2 ch. I'm ok with that.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first st, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, *2 DS, ch 2, sk next 2 sts* to turning ch, sc in top of turning chain, turn

Row 2: Ch 2 *2 DS, ch 2, sk next 2 sts* to last ch-2 sp, 2 DS, hdc in last st.

Repeat rows 1 & 2

Instructions for a DS (Drop Stitch) are: working around next ch-2 sp, dc in next skipped ch or st 2 rows below.

It doesn't make sense to me. Row 1 is only stitched to Row 3 and Row 2 is only stitched to the Foundation Row. It is like a V. Two blankets only connected at the bottom. Is this correct? I don't want to get too far only to find I'm doing it wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

As I read your pattern, you are creating ch-2 spaces and when you come to those ch-2 spaces, instead of working a dc into the space, you reach down to those stitches in the row below that were skipped in creating the ch-2 space. club penguin cheats

Can u pls help me out.. I cant understand how to stitch the Special Cross- stitch . In Row 2 they have asked highly apprciate if u can help me out..any easy baby blanket pattern u have. 24th may is my nephews christening want to gift the baby boy ..thanks amillion for the great work u guys r doing beautiful site & tks for the help. If I have this correct, your are basically creating elongated stitches that space two rows. You alternate where these elogated stitches go to create a basket weave type pattern.

Do what Craftsman suggests and make a swatch where you can try out this stitch pattern.

At first reading it appears what you said is correct. But as you continue, wouldn't the rows get interwoven, so the drop stitches come through the ch-2 spaces? Maybe you could make a small sample for several rows and see what happens. (I don't have a hook and yarn handy, else I'd try it right now and tell you what I get.)

Could you tell us where you got the pattern? If online, please give URL. Is there a photo? Maybe we could give you a better response if we knew what the finished blanket should look like.
