crochet loop stitch

finally found a pattern for crochet dress for my 3mth baby daughter, but it calls for the crochet loop stitch. can you explain this stitch please as not heard of it before.

tks jjknitter.;) perhaps you could also explain what is meant with "working in front loops only". am eager to start this dress before Illaria gets too big for the finished dress!! being a beginner want to make sure i dont get stuck too often half way thru!
