Beanies are wonderful to make for gifts, for yourself and family, and for humanitarian causes. I am not certain what size you want to make, but I have all sizes on my site:

If you want to make some for a local hospital I have newborn and preemie patterns for little hats here:

You didn't say whether you already know how to crochet. If not, you could start by going to the Learn To Knit & Crochet Home link at the top of this page. Also, use the Search function to see what links others have posted on this forum - some sites have video tutorials.
