I'm looking for unusual gift ideas for adult women. I have done scarves, water bottle holders, hats, potholders and shawls. I don't want biggy projects like afghans (I did do a small leg/lap quilt for my mom one year that was cool). Any thoughts or great ideas?? Thanks!

Re: unusual gift ideas for women
I think the crocheted coffee sleeves would make a nice gift. As long as they drink coffee:)
Good luck!

Just thought of something else, actually it was triggered by the suggestion of the placemats. How about sets of coasters??

I plan on doing placemats for my mom for christmas. Perhaps you could try that? The individual placemats are fairly small, but depending on how big the table is you may not want to.
I've also read that people make soap dishes, book ends and dish towels. Just some thoughts.

Have you worked with thread and steel needles? Most people don't use doilies these days, but lace coasters and bookmarks are always useful.

One year I did the covered hangers, the wooden hangers are hard to find but there are patterns for the plastic hangers. And they do work, I have made them for myself also.
Just a thought. Also, what about bath mitts and scrubbies. Those, though, I haven't done.
