If a pattern calls for weight 2 yarn and to be crocheted in 2 strands, if I substitute weight 4 yarn do I only crochet with one strand? Thank you!

According to the CYCA yarn weight chart at < http://www.craftyarncouncil.com/weight.html >, weight 2 yarn is baby or sport yarn; weight 4 yarn is worsted weight. We usually see posts that say a double strand of sport yarn is approximately equal to a single strand of worsted. My answer would be yes BUT make a test swatch to check your gauge to make sure.

Thank you so much! Doing the test it worked out just doing one strand of weight 4 :)
