Knit & Crochet Project of the Month

Here's another fun Make It Quick^TM project-a crocheted bag. Watch for them on magazine fashion pages as a "soft" alternative to leather. You'll be delighted at how comfortable they are to wear and easy to create

Size: Approx 9 1/2" x 12"

Materials: LION BRAND Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, Item #640 (6 oz. balls)

2 balls Fisherman #099
One crochet hook size P (12mm) OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
One 1" button
Tapestry needle

Gauge: 2 stitches and 3 rows = 1" in single crochet BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

Bag
Chain 27. Row 1 Working into second chain from hook, work 26 single crochet, chain 1, turn. Work each row in single crochet until piece measures 18" from beginning. On last row make button loop as follows: work across 13 single crochets, chain 8, continue to end of row. Fasten off.

Finishing

Fold piece in half and sew or crochet together side seams.

Crochet strap
Make a chain 36" long. Attach strap to side seams at top of purse. Weave in loose ends and sew on button.
