SHORT & SWEET KNIT SCARF

They are all the rage: short, narrow scarves, that look great with a sweater or under a jacket. And you can Make It Quick! with two strands of worsted-weight yarn. We used two variegated yarns to create these wonderful color combinations in our models but why not try combining a solid with a variegated yarn for a terrific tweedy look.

One size fits all.

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
5 1/2" by 56" (14 cm by 142.5 cm)

Materials:
Worsted-weight yarn (We used Caron International's Simply Soft yarn)

Size 8/H knitting needles

For blue/green scarf
1, 2.5 oz. skein of "Green Meadow"
1, 2.5 oz. skein of "Country Blue"

For maroon/purple scarf:
1, 2.5 oz. skein of "Sweet Violets"
1, 2.5 oz. skein of "Venetian Rose"

NOTE:
Hold 2 strands of yarn together throughout.

INSTRUCTIONS Cast on 25 stitches. Stockinette stitch (Knit all of the stitches in the first row. Purl all of the stitches in the second row.) Repeat, alternating knit and purl rows. for 280 rows, or until desire length. Bind off.

TASSELS
For each tassel, cut 6 strands (3 of each colored yarn) into 8" (20.5 cm) strands. Hold them together and fold in half. Pull the yarn through the corner edge with a crochet needle inserted from back to front. Pull the strands through the loop. Repeat three times, spacing the tassels 1.25"/3cm apart. Repeat on other side. Trim tassels to make a straight edge.
