Knitting

thumb gusset

I'm trying to knit my first wristlet and I'm lost. I was ok until I bo on the wristlet part. I was able to arrange the thumb stitches from the stitch holder to 3 dpns. Now I'm stuck....

The pattern continues: Rejoin yarn at thumb opening, k11, pick up and k 2 sts

How do i rejoin the yarn? I know how to join yarn but how do i re-join yarn. Was I supposed to leave a bigger tail from the bo to rejoin? Or do I join from the skein?

Another Doily Question

I finished the last doily and it came out great! Thanks KT for the help with the crochet edging.
Now I'm on to another doily and am confused on what I'm suppose to do on the 16th Round. It says:

16th ROUND: K 1 st to last needle, * K 2, y o, K 3 tog, y o, K 2, y o, K 2, y o, K 3 tog, y o, K 1, K 1st st of next needle onto same needle, y o, repeat from * all around ending round with K 2, y o.

I tried knitting all the way around until I got to 1 st before the last dpn and then started the repeat, but that didn't seem to work. I'm not understanding what " K1 st to last needle" means.

Doily

I am just finishing a knitted doily from circular needles. Now the last instructions are to crochet an edging. I'm like so many other knitters and have no idea how to do that.
Can someone point me to some type of youtube video that would show me how to do the following.

So far I still have all my stitches on my circ needle then it states:
Row 87: knit around
Then...Knit 1 stitch on to right hand needle and then finish off with a crochet hook. Where crochet terms differ, UK/US (not sure what that last sentence means)

*3 stitches tog with dc/sc, 8 chain*, repeat till end of round

Pattern Help + sign in pattern?

I've come across something I haven't seen and hoping someone can help. Here is part of the pattern and what I don't understand is the "+" in row #3:

(Multiple of 8 sts + 3)
Also see Chart.
Row 1: K2, *k2tog, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, ssk, k1; rep from * across to last st, k1.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl.

Row 3: K1, k2tog, *k1, yo, k3, yo, k1 +, dcd; rep from * across to last 3 sts,
ending last rep at +, ssk, k1.

Can someone let me know what this means?

Charity Knitting Groups in Orlando, Florida?

I'm going to be moving to the Orlando, Florida area soon - probably in August - and my Google skills have so far failed to find me an established group of Warm Up America volunteers in the area. Is there such a thing I'm simply failing to find? Or perhaps another, similar charity where I could put my limited knitting skills to good use? I would be very grateful for more information, even just a nudge toward the correct place to look. Thank you!

My Yarn Broke

Help!! I was trying to knit fingerless gloves on dbl pointed needles and i really messed up. The joins between the dbl pointed needles was loose. While I was trying to tighten the join I pulled the yarn WAY too tight and the yarn broke off!! YIKES!!!!! The yarn attached to the needle is only about a half an inch long & I'm already 5 inches into the pattern.

Please help...how do I reconnect the stub to the skein of yarn it separated from? Is it even possible?

Thank you in advance.

I tried to reply to the answer on my previous posting but it didn't let me, it said it had to be reviewed or something? I waited one day to see if it would be posted but hasn't happened. Sorry I am making a new post.

Est patt:
Set-up Row: P14, *place marker (pm), p19, pm, p5; rep from * across for 2 (2, 3, 3) times more, pm, p19, pm, p14.
Row 1 (RS): K14 for St st, *Body Pat Row 2 over 19 sts, k5 for St st; rep from * across, ending Body Pat Row 2 over 19 sts, k14 for St st.

Tunic pattern Help

Hi,

I am new to knitting with pattern, always made my own knitting calculating myself everything. But I felt in love with a tunic and I am having a hard time reading the pattern and knowing what is asked of me to do. The knitting part is fine (I learn fast if I don't know); but I have problems with the wording of the pattern, I don't know what to do with the markers either.

Here it is. I'll put the questions in bold after each area so that it is clear. I am going to ask all questions I have know for whole pattern instead of posting day by day as I encounter problems
