Circular Knitting

Hope someone has some insight or ideas for me!  I haven't done a whole lot of circular knitting, but since I'm making multiple strand blankets I decided to use a long circular needle.  I made up a very pretty pattern, with one of 12 rows where you YO twice before taking the stitch off the needle.   However, on the next row which is a plain P row, the YO's do not slide up onto the needle because the yarn tightens and hangs onto the cable!  This is easy enough to understand but I hadn't thought about it before I started.  Is my only alternative to leave the YO's out of the pattern  rather tha

Bernat Blue and White Blanket - issues with pattern instructions

Hi,
I just started with a Bernat blanket knitting pattern. I am having difficulties understanding a couple of things:
Question: I am difficulty understanding what you are supposed to do with MK because, it seems, I am losing stiches by doing P2tog AND K2tog. I would assume you need to keep 181 sts but with MK I don't see how. Thanks for clarifying!
STITCH GLOSSARY MK = P2tog without slipping sts off needle, then K2tog over same sts.

Knitting in the round

I am knitting in the round with circular needles and the stockinette stitch. I am working on a sweater and the body calls for working in the round. What ends up happening is the piece winds up having this spiral effect. The stitch do not go straight up and down but have a slight spiral look to it. How can I prevent this?

Need pattern for knitted cape

To KT:
Thanks for replying so soon. I had neglected to state that I have no large quantity of paper and no pictures or no pattern to recreate this cape. I need a pattern. Failing that, I will have to learn how to design knitware, so I am hoping that I find a pattern because I believe that designing the cape will be harder than knitting from a pattern so right now I am trying to find a pattern. Thanks much if you can help!
