I am a beginner at crochet (been knitting for years) and am looking for an easy afghan pattern that will allow me to use up balls of leftover yarn. I saw a zig zagged afghan that would be perfect, but can't find the pattern and don't know what it's called. Here is an easy pattern for a beginner: 48 oz. worsted weight yarn Chain 247. Work the following for about 100 rows or until desired length. Chain only 127 if you want to make a baby blanket. Row 1: DC in 4th chain from hook, dc in next 3 ch, *skip 2 ch, [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in next ch, skip 2 ch, dc in next 5 ch, repeat from * across, ch 3 turn. Rows 2 through 100: dc in next 4 dc, * [2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc] in ch-1 space, dc in next 5 dc, repeat from * across, ch 3, turn, fasten off at the end. EDGING: Sc in along the side of dc, ch 2, * sc in same dc, ch 2, sc in side of next dc, ch 2, repeat from * to corner [sc, ch 2] twice in corner, ** sc in next st, ch2, repeat from ** to next corner, [sc, ch 2] twice in corner, repeat from first * around, join, fasten off. Work in all loose end on the wrong side of the work. Enjoy. This is easy and fast
