I learned to crochet from my Granny when I was 15 years old. (That was a LOOONG time ago). I'm better at learning when someone SHOWS me. If you learn the same way, might I suggest that you contact a local Senior Citizen's Center or some other senior-based community service and see if you can find someone willing to teach you? There are LOTS of seniors that would love to spend time passing on skills to someone interested in learning. And chances are, a wonderful relationship would develop.

check with your local craft store i.e. Michael's stores. I teach a crochet and knitting class at our Michaels store here in Bakersfield
