pattern calls for 19" circular needle; can't find! can I use a 16" circular needle? It's for a 'skull' hat.
Thank you, very much!!

Since it's for a skull hat, would it not be just as simple to use double point needles? I've done many a stocking hat on size 6, 7 or 8 dps, using 3 needles as holders and one as working needle. And this can be as few as 84 sts or as many as 96 sts. The latter sometimes want to run off the needles, but with patience I manage.
Good luck and Happy Knitting!! Marian

It should work. The stitches will be a bit more crowded, but there ahouldn't be slews of stitches on a hat.
