I started working this pattern and I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. Any opinion would be helpful.
Chain 80
Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook and each chain across - 79 sc.
Ch 3 (counts as dc on next row now and throughout) Turn.
Row 2: Dc in next sc and in each sc across - 79 Dc. Ch 1, Turn.
Row 3: Sk first dc, dc in next dc * sl st in next dc, dc in
next dc, repeat from * across, sl st in 3rd ch of
turning ch - 39 dc and 40 sl sts. Ch 3, Turn.
When trying to do this, in row 2 if I count the turning chain 3 and dc in each sc I have 80 dc at the end of the row so I am skipping the first sc. In row 3 I end up with 39 dc and 39 sl st so I am counting the ch 1 turn as a sl st. It seems to work this way. I just would like another opinion before I get too far.
Thanks for the help on my last post. I had to alter the pattern to get it to work but the blanket came out beautiful. Thanks again!!!

Hi Klamneck, I think your problem is in Row #2. Usually when doing a double crochet across a row, the turning chain should be a ch3, the patterns says ch1, turn. Then look at Row #3, the pattern says sl st in 3rd ch of turning ch. According to the pattern you only have Ch1 from Row #2. The slst in the 3rd ch of turning ch should count as a slst in Row #3.
I hope this helps...this is my humble opinion...my skills are still in a learning mode...All the best, Jane
