I am new to crochet and want to know if jacquard yarns such as Bernat Baby and Jr. jacquards can be used for baby blanket/afghan? The pattern of print is so pretty but didn't know if practical for anything other than clothing. Thanks...

In using patterned yarns, it is usually a matter of whether you like how the colors and patterns work out with the particular stitch pattern you are using.
if the yarn otherwise suits your needs -- appropriate size and fiber -- try it out to see if you like the effect. Using self-striping or jacquard yarns is somewhat like using variegated yarns, except that the colors change over a longer length than with variegated yarns.
