Any suggestions welcome...what am I doing wrong??? I am crocheted a little girl's jumper....single crochet, join with a slip stitch, chain one, single crochet around.....the seam up the back is coming out on a slant...why can't I get it straight???? help

Count the stitches to make sure each row counts the same >
I would think you have been adding extra stitches to each row.
Like do not add a stitch to the turning ch1 .
See how this works out .
Others will add their input.
