poncho pattern

Hello again, well I have finished the fist 9 rows of my poncho and the pattern tells me it is time to change from my 10.5 circular needle to a 11 circular needle.

My first attempt to do this caused many stitches to drop off and I basically started over.

I think I am changing needles out the wrong way. I really do not want to have stiches drop off again.

Do I simply manuever the loops from the 10.5 needle onto the 11 needle or is there another way?

thank you in advance.

The simple way is to just begin knitting with the new needle. Pick up the first stitch with the new needle, knit it, and continue.
