I'm having trouble understanding the pattern when it comes to the edging. The afghan is worked in rows across instead of oblong. The edging instructions are...
Rnd 1: Ch1, turn; sc in each st and in each ch across to last dc,2 sc in last dc; (have up to here.. this is where i'm stuck) 2 sc in first row, 3 sc in end of each row across; working in free loops of beginning ch, 2 sc in first ch, sc in each ch across to marked ch, 2 sc in marked chain, remove marker; 2 sc in first row, 3 sc in end of each row across, sc in same st as first sc; join with slip st to first sc; 512 sc.
Looking for old patterns of vegetables that I did about 40 yrs.ago...Does anyone know where I can find them or does anyone have them...Thanks, Chali
I am attempting my first baby sweater pattern. So far so good, however, I am to the point of shaping the armholes and I do not understand what the pattern is saying:
Shape armholes: Next row: Sl st in each of first 4 sts. Ch 1. Pat to last 4 sts. Ch 1. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. 33 (39-42) sts.
Cont even in pat until armhole measures 4½ (5-5½) ins [11.5 (12.5-14) cm], ending with RS facing for next row. Fasten off.

I would love to make this wrap as a gift for a friend but I can't get past the foundation row!! It is a pattern from caronnaturally.com made from spa yarn and it is called oasis wrap. I do not understand the instructions for "mod-sc".Pattern begins with "ch2 ,sc in top loops of second ch from hook(counts as mod-ch),*ch1, mod-sc in previous sc;repeat from * until 195 mod-sc have made, ch1-195 mod-sc".Then onto round two.I am stumped by the mod-sc in previous sc. Where is that previous sc?????????????? P.S.
The question pertains to the 1st round of lace edging for a baby blanket. It calls for 2 sc in first dc (clear enough). *Work 123 sc along each side of Blanket and 3 sc in corners. Idon't understand what they really want me to do. Can anyone enlighten me, please?
I have the instrctions from Coats and Clark. I am completely lost at the place where it says join cuff. These instrctions make no sense to me. If anyone can help I would be grateful.
I am making a hat from a pattern. In one line it says "5 ch, *2 dc in following ch-bow, 2 ch*, repeat"
I am very confused about how I would do the 2 chains before repeating. The way I keep doing it I end up with 7 and it runs on together. That doesn't seem to be working.
Remember I am a beginner so please explain it to me in thorough detail.
Im having trouble understanding the 3rd round on this pattern
Rnd 3: Ch 3, *skip next st, 1dc-ch1-1 dc in next st(V-st made). Repeat from * ending with 1dc in same sp as ch 3, ch 1, this completes the last V-st. sl st to join. (12 Vs-dc)
if anyone can help and explain, i would be very greatful.
