years ago I crocheted a baby blanket that consisted of 5-6 strips that were each 6 blocks. Assorted animals were then embrodiered (using cross stitch) in every other square in pastel yarns. I have been unable to find this pattern again; does anyone have a copy?

Hello everyone, I am trying to teach myself how to crochet. I just do not understand some of the directions, so if you could possibly help I would be so grateful. I am trying to crochet an afghan and I will give you the first 3 Rnd's. It is the 3rd. Rnd that I can not figure out. Square Ch 4 join with a sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Ch 1,, 8 sc in ring, join with a sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 1 sc in first sc, [ch 4, sc in in next sc] 7 times, ch 1,dc in first sc to join and form last sp.

I am new to crocheting and I have a question about my granny square. I started with a chain 5 and slip stitch to make a loop, Then a chain 3, 2dc, chain 2, 3dc etc until done with that round. After the last set of 3dc, I do one chain and then one single crochet to close the round.
Then I do a chain 3, and a one double crochet to start the corner on the new round.

If I use stitch markers will it help my project be more even? I'm doing 4 placemats - 1st two were fine - 3rd one began to "grow wider". It's all hdc - 2 chains at end & turn - I would put marker in top of turning chain then hdc in that chain & turn. Thank you!

I am going to make a twin bed "blanket" same size as a comforter & have measured 60" x 85" as my desired size. I have NO idea how much yarn I'll need - it's a shell stitch - could you please help with a "guess-timate"?? It's from a pattern that gives stitch instructions but just says to make whatever size you want - doesn't help me a bit!! Thanks in advance!! Barbara

I completed, doggedly, the pattern, but the edging is so bunched up, it looks awful, nothing like the picture. I tore it out several times, but to not avail. ANyone else have this problem? and, has anyone solved the mystery? HELP!!!

It's just a straight piece done on right side half double and back side row in sc but instead of growing straight it is growing at an angle: \ \
The hdbl row begins with a chain 2 and the sc row begins with a chain 1. Help - what am I doing wrong???
