LEARNING THE CRAFT

In my hometown, the natives of the land and the Malays would usually engage in trading and sell goods that are considered homegrown in their respective places. This is made possible because it would only take a ferry-ride to reach their destination. Hence, the bartering of goods usually happens on the shore; and, most of the time these goods would include textiles. They were not just ordinary textiles, though. They were first class cloths interwoven by the very hands of man.

Can't figure out how to do some stitches

I have a pattern that is supposed to produce "arrows" but I can't figure out how to do it. The pattern says to " skip three stitches, then triple crochet, then, behind the triple crochet, double crochet into the three skipped stitches. On the next row, you skip three stitches and then triple crochet, then over the triple crochet you double crochet into the skipped stitches. I cannot get it to look anything like the picture. Pls. tell me how to "go behind the triple crochet. Is it behind the work?

Crocheting Wrong side Right Side???

Hi,

I'm trying to learn how to crochet but can't find any kind of video to show how to actually crochet on the wrong side or right side. They just flip the crocheted material around and say what is wrong side or right side. So this does not help me at all. So when they flip around... do I just flip and crochet as usual but just on the same top or do I need to crochet in the nub? Please help as this is the only thing stopping me from crocheting. I have looked at all the you tube videos...

Need some help w/pattern

Hello,
I have been crocheting for only a little while, and I have learned quite a few stitches and how to work with different threads. I thought I was ready for a larger project, so I got a pattern for a cardigan, but there are things they are saying in the pattern that I do not quite understand.
Some of the terms are:
"The instructions between asterisks represent one pattern repeat"

"achieve the correct gauge of 1 pattern
repeat to 3 inches."

"yoke"

"Divide yoke into body and sleeve sections"

"..Rejoin yarn to 7th (6th, 7th, 6th) Ch..."

Learning to Crochet

Crochet, in most people’s eyes, has always been a grandmother type of hobby. The
reality, however, is that crochet is much more than your grandmother and is definitely
much more than “just” a hobby. It is an art that gave you that quilt you received from
your granny last Christmas, the sweater you got from your wife for your last birthday,
and the trendy Dolce and Gabbana scarf you bought for yourself last winter. Yes, crochet
is a vital cog in our lives that we normally take for granted.

If you are looking to acquire this seemingly forgotten art, the first thing you will need to

help with vintage pattern abbreviations

Can anyone tell me what "d" and "t" mean in this 1921 vintage baby afghan in wheel stitch? The pattern does not give any explanation for the stitches and the person I purchased it from does not know either.

Pattern:
Begin with a chain containing a multiple of 8 and 2 over.

1st row_ Make 8 t in the 5th ch, pulling the loop out long. * Skip 3 chs, 1 d
in next, skip 3 ch, 8 t in next st. Repeat from * to the end of row ending with
a d. Fasten off, turn.
