KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
Cuff-to-cuff: 45 1/2 (46 1/2, 47 1/2)"
Width at back: 16 1/2 (17 1/2, 18 1/2)"

MATERIALS
Approximately 490 (520, 550) yds of yarn
One pair size 4mm/U.S. 6 needles
One pair size 5mm/U.S. 8 needles or size to obtain gauge
One blunt-end yarn needle

GAUGE
18 sts and 24 rows = 4"/10cm over St st using larger needles.

SHRUG

With smaller needles, cast on 46 (48, 50) sts.
Ribbing
Row 1: K1, p1 to the end of the row.
Row 2: K1, p1 to the end of the row.
Repeat Row 1 and 2 for 2 1/2", ending with a WS row.
Change to larger needles.
Next row: Knit, increasing 4 sts evenly across-50 (52, 54) sts.
Next row: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Work 2 rows even in St st, maintaining 3 st garter edges.
Next (Inc) row: K3, M1, knit to last 3 sts, M1, k3.
Work 5 rows even. Repeat last 6 rows 10 times more-72 (74, 76) sts.

Work in patts as established until sleeve measures 14 1/2" from beg or the length desired. Place a marker at each end of the row to indicate end of sleeve.
Work even until piece measures 16 1/2 (17 1/2, 18 1/2)" from marker or the length desired. Place another set of markers to indicate beg of next sleeve.
Work even for 1".
Next (Dec) row: K2, ssk, knit to last 4 sts, k2tog, k2.
Work 5 rows even.
Repeat last 6 rows 10 times more-50 (52, 54) sts.
Work even until piece measures 12" from last set of markers, ending on a WS row.
Change to smaller needles and begin k1, p1 rib, decreasing 4 sts evenly across first row-46 (48, 50) sts.
Continue in rib st for 2 1/2".
Bind off loosely.

FINISHING
Block to measurements.
Sew sleeve seams from cuff to markers, or as desired.
