Pattern creation

Hello everyone,

I ran across a clothing site and saw a few shirts and dresses that I fell in love with. I am looking for some pointers in making a pattern for one of the items I saw. I am not particularly interested in making this pattern available for others unless I get a lot of interest but I am curious in what kind of stitch to use. Also, would a cotton thread and metallic cotton thread for the base work this shirt? I plan on going out on the town with this shirt. Link is below. Thanks!

twin crochet afghan

I want to make a crochet twin size afghan using the afghan stitch.
How many chain stitches do I start with, and how many rows do I make?

I have several balloon cross stitch graphs I want to use. How large should they be for this size afghan?

Another question: I would like to use a bamboo afghan hook with an extender. I have never used an afghan hook with an extender before and was wondering if the work well?

Thank you for any help you can give.
Jayne

Need Help with Hat Pattern

Crocheting a hat for Christmas. It's crocheted flat with a seam on the back. I have the piece complete. Now the pattern says "Fasten off leaving a long end. Draw end through rem sts and fasten securely. Sew center back seam."

I don't understand what they mean by "draw end through rem sts". Will this close the hole at the top of the hat some how. This end is 16 sts and about 6 ins. long.

Losing width/uneven edges but not dropping stitches. What is happening?

I've searched for this in the forums and nothing comes up. I've read all of crochet 911, and information on other sites. I'm not finding anything but people saying that the ONLY reason is dropping stitches.

I'm losing width, I have no idea why. I'm not dropping stitches. I don't count but I do look at the stitches when I rip out all the uneven rows (sadly, that's a lot of uneven rows). All of the stitches have the extra stretched holes indicating that I put a stitch through them.

What does it mean to 'tack' during piece assembly

I crocheted a bookmark that is done in one long piece. In order to make the final cross shape, the pattern says to glue the parts that overlap. The problem is that there is a section where 4 corners meet and its says to 'tack' them together. Am i supposed to glue them or does it mean sew the corners together?
