B.Hooked 2019 Warm up America! Challenge

Get ready for the 2019 B.Hooked Warm Up America! Crochet Challenge! Now in its fourth year, the challenge encourages crocheters each year to complete a project for a special cause in a month-long time frame.

The challenge was announced today (January 31) and it’ll officially kick off when the patterns are released on February 8. You can learn more about the design of the lap blanket, where to order your supplies and how to participate on Brittany’s blog.

This year’s project is a 45" x 35" lap blanket for veterans in the Wounded Warrior project at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. The challenge is open worldwide to anyone who wants to make a real impact in a veteran’s life. This year there is a new addition to the challenge as well: a knit hat. You may choose to make either the crochet project or knit project or both! You can make either project using the suggested colors or using your own color combinations!

The project mailing deadline is March 16 to the Warm Up America! office (3740 N. Josey Lane, Suite 152, Carrollton, TX 75007). Participants can earn additional entries as well; the more hats and lap blankets you send, the more entries you earn. The only stipulations for the challenge are that your project be postmarked by the deadline, you include the challenge form in your shipment and you make your project(s) in the pattern(s) Brittany has provided!

There will be many giveaways for this year’s challenge, including 12 balls of Vanna's Choice Lion Brand yarn (in your choice of color), one $50 Love Crafts e-gift card, two Clover Amour crochet sets and one Clover Takumi interchangeable needle set, one $50 Red Heart yarn prize pack, three Furls streamline crochet hooks, and a free Level I and Level II Crochet or Knit CIP courseThe giveaways are open to US and Canada residents only and giveaway winners will be announced on April 2 on the Warm Up America!
