really bad experienc

I was teaching at a Michaels and had real issues with everything. No one in the store really knew how the program worked, but yet they wanted lots of classes to happen. That was really hard as I had no guidence in how to achieve this. I did demos, and got no sign ups. Did the open house and got only one sign up. I put up what the store calls yellow stars...stating lean to knit ask an associate or cashier for more info....and put them up around the store and by the registers. Went back in a day later and all of them were taken down. How the heck was I supposed to get sign ups if no one knew classes were available. Also the cashiers had no knowlegde of the class and couldn't really help customers sign up or give information. Basically everything was against me. I spent my own money to print up flyers and hung them at post offices, libraries and any other bulletin board I could. Still no go. From what I hear from people is that the classes are too expensive and there are other places they can take classes for way less. I know this to be a fact, other craft stores and fabric stores offer classes for 6.00 a class. With this economy how can you can compete with that, especially when you get no support from the store you are teaching from. I am no longer working there, and am now looking for a location to teach classes on my own. I truly believe that I will be way more successful than doing it thru the Michaels stores.
