I'm planning a couple of classes outside the curriculum - one for dishcloths (at the suggestion of my store manager) and one for socks, on the premise that these are popular items to knit, and we can structure a class so everyone can take an item home with them. (I will post my sock pattern when I get it finished).

My question is as follows: when listing the materials required for the class, should I be picking certain brands of yarn, as they're sponsoring the classes? Normally I'd be suggesting Patons and Bernat, but I notice that Red Heart and Loops and Threads and other more novel brands show up in the official curriculum more often.
