Has anyone had any problems with scheduling classes at Michael's? I spoke with one of the managers in charge of the classroom and told her the dates and times I would like to be signed up for and she said everything would be fine, there was absolutely no one signed up for that time slot let alone that day. I was specifically told to let her know before the end of the month (December) so she could add it to the Michael's calendar for January. Turns out, the store associates changed the dates on the poster I made (which included my samples from "Discover the KNIT stitch") to the dates and times of the other woman's class! Then I looked on the online calendar for January and my classes aren't even listed anywhere! I'm extremely frustrated. I've spoken with the general manager and two other managers about the mixup I've even called up the other knit instructor to try to understand what is happening. Everyone seems to be in the dark - did I dream this whole thing up?
Any advice as to what I should do about this situation? I'm pretty excited to start teaching knitting (and also crochet - which they ultimately wanted me to do but did not stress this to me when I first signed on, it seemed like all they really needed were beginner classes, that's what was stressed) although I am almost ready to bail on the store and move to another one. It's seems disorganized and I would really like to set up February classes but I'm a little gun-shy because I'd hate to waste my time trying to figure out what they're not doing to get things in order. I've worked at Michael's as a sales associate years ago, so I know how it runs from both sides now. It's very frustrating! Or maybe I'm not accustomed to it yet?
