pattern help

Hi,
i have 9 stitches on my needle.
Here is the pattern:

K1 , ( cast on 3 sts, cast off 3 sts, k1 ) 4 times
P.S: The cast on sts is by knitted cast on method

When I do this pattern as above I have remaining 4 unworked sts on my needle. I believe this is wrong because there should be 9 worked sts on the right needle if I follow the above correctly.
If you can help with the detailed explanation, I'd be very grateful. Please help.

Thanks
Bikki

Where to block???

I had all the rugs removed from my place and sleep on the Sleep Number bed filled with air.  I tried to seach for "blocking boards" but that must not be the name of them.  I want to block out a scarflet done with short rows, but need to block it!  Does anyone know where I can buy blocking boards?  Or have any other ideas?

Knitting Pattern for child Mary Jane slippers with lace

I am trying to locate a pattern for a childs size mary jane looking houseshoe. They have attached yarn that looks like a white sock. My grand daughters love them and I want to try to make them. I had purchased the grand daughters house shoes at a craft fair in the fall. They have worn the shoes so much the bottoms are nearly worn through. If you know where I can find a pattern, or if you have one that you would share, that would be great. Any information is very much appreciated. Thank you.

however the beg and end stiches are working up separate from the block, its like i'm knitting 3 individual items on 1 needle. i'm surely doing something not right. can anyone please explain? thanks

not understanding part of a knitting pattern

Mainly a new knitter.  Working on Pattern by LionBrand #70358B "Baby Pancho".  I figured out pattern until part which state Shape Neck.  I had to join a new ball of yarn, bind off 16 sts., k21 and continue to work each side at same time with separate balls of yarn, keeping 3 sts at each side edge in Garter st.  Work even for 3 rows.  I did that.

Patterns for projects on Knit and Crochet??

I've looked all over the website and can't find what I'm looking for. Does anyone know whether they provide patterns for projects shown on the TV show "Knit and Crochet?" I'm specifically looking for the pattern for the square sample demonstrated at the end of the program. It was a knitted square with a heart shape "lace" to it.  I jotted down the pattern as she demonstrated it, but I'm looking for more of the pattern.  Can anyone help with where to find this?  Thank you!
