It states this for arm hole shaping...Cast off 5 sts beg next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of next 4 (4-5-5)rows. 73 (83-89-95)sts.

shoulder seams on poncho

I have knitted a poncho in Aran wool, which is quite thick, and I have to join the shoulder seams by top-sewing. Any tips on this would be welcome, as I have never come across this instruction before, in over 50 years of knitting.

Ahhhhhh Beautiful.

It sorta reminds me of the Pineapple Pattern that I just love.
but also looks like Grape leaves

I have had this pattern for over 3 years , but I can't get the nerve up to Knit a doily rather than do my Crochet ones.
I think it might be tooooo big a chalenge for me !

I would have to go to CLASSES for this one !!!! Whew ~~~~~~~~~~

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I'm working pattern at the start of my next row it says cast on 12 stiches then k to end. I'm wondering how to do this. I looked on youtube and a few other sites for help with no luck. The pattern is the softly striped cozy throw it's on the back of the rainbow boucle package.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ravelry

Although I've had access to Ravelry for a few months, I have just started doing some more things with it in the past month or so. Ravelry has so much on its site, it's rather overwhelming and I do have a tendency to "shut down." Reminds me of shopping for a white blouse at the Macy's in downtown San Francisco. When I was confronted with racks upon racks of white blouses, I just called it quits and walked out.

Multiples of 8

When a pattern calls of a multiple of a certain number + another number what does it mean?

Example: Multiples of 8 + 3 and what number of cast on stitches do I need in order for this to work.

I am trying to put an edge around a lace wrap.(My first attempt!!) I have a total of 927 stitches on the needles and what I am doing is not working. Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Pick up calculator

Aloha!

I have been working on my afghan for a year now and I'm so close to done! To complete the edges the pattern instructs me to pick up 247 stitches along the sides. But I have 304 rows. (284 rows plus 10 on top and 10 on bottom). Is there a right way to figure out which rows to skip?

I thought I had done a search on here and someone posted a calculator, but I can't find it again.

Thanks!

Size

I have a baby blanket that calls for Sport Yarn with a gauge
of 5 stitches per inch.
Was wondering if I used Worsted Weight with same gauge of
5 stitches per inch on different size needles if the blanket
would be same size or larger.
Thank you.
