Need help with Bernats Men's Dropshoulder Sweater

Hi all,
New to knitting sweaters and I am getting stuck on this part and don´t want to mess up. Can someone please explain to a newbie what exactly this means?
Thanks for supporting a male knitter :-)

Shoulders: Cast off 30 sts beg next 2 rows. Leave rem 35 (35-37-39-39) sts on a st holder.

does this mean cast off 30 on the right side -knit the rest of the row
then cast off 30 on the left side- until I reach the neck (rem 35 st)

Felting Noni bag

Hello - I am making a Noni bag for my friend and worried about the wool. I have made Noni bags for myself before but since this is for somone I am being extra careful. She wants a color by Lamb’s Pride. Can I use this instead of the Cascade 220? Thank you!

Working both sides at the same time

Hi everyone. I'm knitting my first sweater, and can't work out the "work both sides at once" bit. First, though, I was wondering if anyone knew a good source for a video or diagram, so I can understand the explanations I'm finding. Here's the part of the pattern I'm unsure of:

"...join a 2nd ball of yarn and bind off center
24 sts, work to end. Working both
sides at once, bind off 4 sts from each
neck edge twice..."

Any help would be great. Thanks, everyone!

Need help 'converting' 1964 Vogue Knitting pattern (size 42?) to 2011 Size 12

Have a friend who is wanting to knit a sweater dress from the Spring/Summer 1964 issue of Vogue Knitting (pattern #41 if you have access) ... my friend is a size 10-12, which by 1964 sizing would put her at a size 42 ... and the max size of the pattern is Size 16. Any advice, suggestions, direction? I did contact Vogue and they declined to 'customize' ... I'm only looking for advice.

Help with Bernat Pattern - Softee Baby - Baby Shower Booties

I'm a beginning knitter but just finished my first pair of baby shower booties using the Bernat pattern. They were a huge success...such a huge success that a girlfriend of mine wanted to know if I could knit a pair for her. Trouble is, I don't know how to increase the baby shower booties pattern into a grown-up booties pattern. Any help would be greatly appreciated! My girlfriend is very ill, in and out of hospital frequently, and these would make a fantastic "get well soon" gift for her, besides keeping her feet warm in the hospital.

Thank you in advance!

Teaching High School kids in a behavior classroom

I am considering teaching knitting to a group of teens who are in a behavior classroom. These kids are in this classroom because of behavioral or emotional issues and were not successful in a general education program. They are bright kids, but maybe a little tough to sell on the idea of knitting. My thinking is by helping others and finding a place to donate their knitting they can really help themselves. I have taught knitting to very young (very eager) students, but never high school age kids. I am a little unsure about how to get started.

Finished vest didn't hold it's shape

I am new to knitting and have finished a vest using silk/bamboo thread; however, after hand washing and drying flat as the directions indicated, the sweater is stretched out and droopy. It is currently unwearable. Did I do something wrong? Did I knit too loosely? The pattern is called "Lacy Top" by Patons. I'm very frustrated. Thanks. Jane
