Pom Pom Yarn for WUA Blocks

Yay! My store donated Pom Pom yarn for the WUA Stitch In! Unfortunately, they did not schedule me time to figure out a 7x9 pattern, nor am I allowed to take the yarn out of the store. I have never worked with the yarn before and I expect I will be busy since I am doing both the WUA and MITI. Can anyone give a gauge guideline and stitch count for both knit and crochet?

Nov 6 Make It Take It

I saw a small mention that we are supposed to do a candy cane Make It Take It on Sunday, Nov 6. Does anyone have any more info about this event? Is there a pattern for the candy cane? Is it knit or crochet, or something else? My impression is that this is supposed to take place concurrently with the WUA block making and stitching, from 1:00 to 3:00.

Fair Isle Cowl

The supply list says we need a 36" long circular needle but the cowl is 30" in circumference. It looks to me that the needle is too long for this cowl. A 29" or even 24" needle would seem to be more appropriate. Actually, the 24" would be best but they don't carry 24 inchers at Michaels.

Information flyer for Blankets for Canada

Is there an information flyer for Blankets for Canada? I wanted to have something for the event on Nov 6 and all I can find on the CYC instructors' resource page is for Warm up America which doesn't have information relevant to Canada. Also the size of the square for Canada is 8" x 8" so the patterns on the WUA flyer wouldn't work.

SUGGESTIONS FOR NEW CLASSES AND WARM UP AMERICA

I want to share this two emails fron Jenny with some information:
1. For your squares, you can use some extra yarn from your stash to do the demo since it's a great way to use odds and ends of yarn. If they would like, customers can bring in some of their own yarn to work on the squares, or they can bring completed squares from home. They will be able to drop them off at Michaels anytime, so use the demo time to get the word out about the WUA event as well as your classes.

The new project patern

At first I found with the link posted in crochet board, but I check every page in the CYC page and found.
Click first on Discover, then on tour of yarn department, on the rigth side of the page you find all the patterns you can download and print, but no more information about in wich class we will offer each project, maybe later we receive more infomation.

Syllabuses Questions-Also posted in teacher forum-crochet

I'm just starting my classes in November and have my first demo tomorrow. I know we have to print out the patterns for our classes ourselves. My manager says she has printed out the syllabuses for me, so am I suppose to make copies to keep at the registers for the customers? It's the paper they get when they sign up for class with they're list of supplies and 10% off bar code at the bottom. I can't afford that, that's 8 class syllabuses This is all new to my manager too. They haven't had a knit/crochet instructor for a couple of years.
