Scheduling ALL basic and new fall (project) classes in one month

I teach both knitting and crochet at my local Michael's and am curious about how y'all fit all 17 classes plus the Open Ended and Yarn Nights into one month?

Do you schedule each class more than once per month?

I only have the opportunity to schedule class on weekday evenings or weekends because I have a regular full time job.

I am curious if other teachers are offering certain classes more than once per month and others maybe not even once per month.

Your input is appreciated.

Patterns

I emailed Bernat.com about using their free patterns from their site for the "instructor created classes" we can do now. This is the reply I got back.

"The free patterns are on the web site are free and can be printed as often as you like. It would be wonderful if you used our free patterns in your classes."

Moogle

How do we use moogle to print off our sheets for class registrations. The person assigned to this task finds it hard to get around to it, so I'm going to start printing out my own. I'm tired of students coming into the store to register for classes and being turned away because the informaiton is not in the FES binder. I talked to my manager this afternoon ans she gave me the OK to do my own.

Syllabi for New Projects on Moogle as of 11/22/2011 (cross posted in Knit & Crochet forums)

I found the syllabi for the new classes on Moogle last night. At that time I still could not find registration pages. Each new project had a separate syllabus plus there are syllabi for Discover Time for Crochet and Discover Time for Knit.

Hopefully the registration pages will be up any day now and we'll be able to get in some new offerings before the January calendar is set in the Event Planner for those of us teaching in stores that have switched to that system.

Wool Allergy

Has anyone had students who are allergic to wool? I had problems with the Paton Wool which is 100% wool but have done alright with Lion's Wool Ease which is only 80% wool. I had a student last week though who took medication to get through the beginning knit class becasue of a wool allergy.

I am working up a garter stitch hat using Loops & Threads - Charisma to see how the gauge goes and getting back with her. I told her not to buy the Paton Wool for the cable class. I'm suggesting she use Loops & Threads - Impeccable instead which is what I ended up using for my cable stitch projects.

WUA Fliers

Does anyone know if Warm Up America is sending out fliers/patterns to the Michael's stores? While doing the demo yesterday, I handed out some that I had printed out myself at home. My manager still doesn't have a donations box made, nor a sign. I would like to have fliers with the sign for volunteers to take, but I certainly don't want to have to be the one to supply them! We do enough printing for the class handouts!

Warm Up America Demo

This afternoon's demo was so much fun.

Someone on the site mentioned having sections started that people could work on during the demo. I'm going to leave that as part of my regular demos. It was wonderful. Two mothers brought their daughters over to the store special because of the hands-on add in the newspaper. The mothers wonted to see how the girls would do with it. Both are signing up for classes with mother coming along to learn with them, the one mother-daughter team knitting and the other crochet.
